Monday
1. Flower Petals - Math *** Print the PDF OR use the picture example to draw flowers with 5 petals. Skip count by 5's to 100. 2. Journal Writing - ELA Write about your week-end. Ask me a question and I will answer. Use the 5 Star Sentences to check your work. 3. Mini-research project - Science Choose a plant (flower, vegetable, tree) that you would like to learn more about. With help from an adult, read about or google it. Write down two facts that you learned and share it with a family member. Be ready to share it for our Team meeting. 4. Home Reading RAZ kids - 1 book and quiz OR read a book from home and play the reading response dice game #1 or #2 |

Tuesday 1. Sunny Math Facts and Rain Math Facts - Math ***Print 2 PDF's 2. Parts of the plant video - ELA/Vocabulary Try out the head and shoulders actions to go along with the song. Word Actions Flower - head Stem - shoulders Leaves - knees Roots - toes Sun - arms in a circle above head Showers - wiggle your fingers Seed - crunch into a ball Flower - make an arch above your head like your flower is opening up 3. Plant Diagram - Science ***Print PDF Label the different parts of a plant Challenge: With a family member discuss the different parts of a plant and what they do. 4. Wednesday
1. Garden Problem Solving - Math You plant 3 rows of carrots. There are 6 carrot seeds in each row. How many seeds did you plant altogether? Thursday 1. Flower 100 Chart - Math ***Print Page 2 of PDF 2. Flower Petal Sight Words - ELA Choose 5 or 10 sight words - draw a flower with some petals and practice writing your sight words on each petal Challenge - Draw 3 flowers. 3. Dandelion diagram - Science/Art With help from an adult, go outside and find a dandelion to pick. Make sure to dig down deep and get the root. Tape the dandelion on a piece of paper and label all of its parts: root, stem, leaf, flower. (See picture) 4. Friday 1. Nature scavenger hunt - Math (see picture) 2. What do plants do for our Earth? - Science/ELA Continue your research project by finding out why your plant is important to the earth. Challenge: Research why other plants are important to the earth. 3. Plant/Nature Collage - Art - Stretch rubber bands around some cardboard - Gather things from nature and arrange them between the elastics OR - Gather things from nature - arrange and glue on paper 4. Home Reading - ELA Read a book online about plants OR a book with plants in it OR read a book under a tree. |
